Haiku Deck's minimal format encourages concise, bold headlines.

You can import your own image (http://blog.haikudeck.com/import-images-like-a-pro/) or use the integrated Creative Commons image search for a more metaphorical approach (More about that here:

Culturally responsive education refers to the combination of teaching, pedagogy, curriculum, theories, attitudes, practices,
and instructional materials that center students’ culture, identities, and contexts throughout educational
systems.

Culturally responsive curricula increase
student academic engagement, attendance, grade point averages, graduation rates, civic engagement,
positive racial self-images, and self-definition (Butler-Barnes, 2017).

CRE is essential for students of color, and also has a positive
impact on White students and their ability to think critically (Laird, 2005).

Focusing attention on one key number, with a well-chosen visual, can effectively grab and hold attention.

Educators influence how

Lessons that only reflect the lives of dominant populations - for example, White people and culture, nuclear
families, or able-bodied people - reinforce ideas that sideline students of color, linguistically diverse students,
single parent/multi-generation/ LGBTQ+ led families, and differently-abled students.

PBL should act as both
Mirror & Window.

It's good practice to focus on one big, shareable, memorable idea at a time.

Make it big and bold!

WINDOWS

Why do we have them?
You can support your big idea with three key points.

Presenting them one at a time, rather than all at once, helps each one sink in.
