Skateboards started out as wooden boards or boxes with wheels attached to the bottom
It is not known when skateboarding began but it is estimated that it began in the 1940 or 1950 in California when surfers wanted something to do when the waves where flat the first official skateboards where ordered by a skate shop in LA
In 1970 frank nasworthy made the first polyurethane wheels. Later, in 1976 the first skatepark was opened in Florida.
Since then skateboards have evolved into what we now know today. There are many different types of tricks and many are invented each year.
TYPES OF SKATEBOARDING
VERT
- VERT IS WHEN YOU GO DOWN A HALF PIPE AND YOU GO DOWN ONE SIDE AND DO TRICKS ON THE OTHER SIDE AND THEN COME BACK DOWN AGAIN.
