ANIMALS

  • The animals in the tundra have adapted enough so they can survive out in the cold
  • Most animals in the tundra are often white, this is used for camouflage for hiding or hunting
  • Arctic animals such as polar bears often have quite a lot of skin layers for warmth
  • Some insects have adapted to life there like mosquitoes who’ve made a chemical compound in their system that stops them from freezing

CLIMATE PROBLEM

  • Greenhouse gases are being produced by corporations and such and such
  • Greenhouse gases make the planet hotter especially the tundra and the arctic
  • Warming temperatures could result in the permafrost melting which would release greenhouse gases which then speeds up global warming
  • The permafrost is layer of dead frozen plants and soil below the surface and makes it hard for plants to grow. For example one distinctive factor of the tundra is that it’s mostly treeless because the tree roots can’t root
