Renoir was born in Limoges, France, but pursued his career in painting in Paris. At the end of his life, he lived in Cagnes, France.

  • Born February 25th, 1841
  • Died December 3rd, 1919
  • He lived to be 78.

What?

  • Renoir was one of the main painters who led the impressionist movement
  • He had a talent for painting landscapes
  • By the time he was middle aged, he had switched to painting portraits
  • Even in his old age, he continued to paint
  • He had arthritis in his later years and painted by tying brushes to his wrists
