PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ITALIAN LEGENDS

BY MADDIE CAMERON

Romulus and Remus are or were twin brothers. Their father was either Mars or Hercules ( Roman gods) the brothers true father is still not known. They were taken away from there mother Rhea because Amulius ( another Roman god) had put the twins in basket and put them in a river so they would go missing.

Luckily a she-wolf found them and took care of them. When they grew up they had found out of their parents and about what Amulius had done to them, they went and killed Amulius. Romulus and Remus then went and founded the city of Rome.

There can be statues of a she-wolf nursing twins all around Italy.

The Lariosauro
In lake Como there is supposedly a creature called The Lariosauro. Like its cousin the Lochness monster we still have no proof that it exists. Who knows, someone with a vivid imagination could have seen a large eel and thought it was a scary monster.

Malocchio (evil eye)
The Malocchio is an old curse that is believed to bring bad luck. Even now, in 2016, people still believe in the Malocchio, because of this people don't tell others good news in case others are jealous and curse them. It is believed that wearing any type of red clothing can ward of the Malocchio, that's from red jewelry to red socks.
