FACTS

  • He died January 5th 1943 in Tuskegee al
  • Education ~ Iowa state university in 1894-1896
  • Then he went to Simpson college in 1890-1891
  • He parents names were Mary & Giles carver

Carver devised over 100 products using one of these crops. The peanut including dyes plastics and gasoline

He was accepted to highland , Kansas . Carver moved to Ames and the following year as the first black student at Iowa state

He graduated from Iowa state , carver embarked on a career of teaching and research

He was an American scientist , botanist, educator and inventor .

The exact day and year of his birth are unknown .

He believed to have been born into slavery in Missouri in January 1864

Most important was the fact that he changed the south from being a one crop land of cotton

The area of Carver's childhood near Diamond Grove, Missouri preserved as a park, this park was the first designated national monument to an African American in the United States.

He is best known for his research on peanuts

President franklin D Roosevelt made carver boyhood home a national monument to honor an African American

Dr.carver researched and developed more than 300 uses for peanuts including chili sauce , shampoo , shaving cream & glue

Dr. Carver’s research gained him much worldwide acclaim.

He's buried on campus at Tuskegee
