Different types of maps

by Ja'Air hill

Intro: So at the begining of time there was these dudes who liked to draw. million years later they still like to draw but they want to draw better. so the idea of perspective becomes a thing and blows every ones mind. Now you can make a 2-d image look like a 3-D image. Wow absolutely amazing. Through this we as humans are able to create this great thing called maps. and the wonders you can create with just a simple concept. let's get to it

So what is a map: a map is way that old boring people use to get their directions but without the creation of the map in the first place i don't think we would have the technology we have today. the real answer to the question is that maps are a source of information that can tell you about weather, roads, elevation, and so much more. So let's get into these eight different maps

Road maps: road maps Show road ways (obviously) and boundaries if don't know where you're going. doesn't matter a nice map can guide in the direction you want to go. The only problem is that it's completely flat. but don't worry we have a map for that!

Topography:if the guys in china wanted to go to India they wouldn't know that the Himalayas were in the way if they used a basic road map-Adam rabo maybe@2018. That's what topography maps are used through the use of contour lines these maps show elevation And our pretty sweet.

Aeronautical maps: What's worse than airplane food? not knowing where your gosh dang airplane is going! Aeronautical maps are used to track and plan flight patterns so everyone on the flight is safe.

Weather maps:as Simple as simple can be for weather maps tell you the weather you see. Minus the poetry Meteorologists use satellites to track weather on the news shows us that information through a weather map. they tell us when is going to be hot or cold the temperature of different counties and all things weather related so you're not on the beach when there's a hurricane near by.

Concept maps: This slide is quick and simple because a concept map is more of a concept than it is a real map. some concept maps are used for literary purposes but of all of them are used to show you the idea of something.

Spider maps: spider maps, spider maps, do whatever spider maps do. So spider maps are one of those literary concept maps I was talking about. A spider in the center of it has one unifying theme and then sub-themes branch out like spider legs. It's not only used for literary purposes. it can be used for Finding related topics to a subject that doesn't deal with the grapes of wrath or h.g.t.t.g. like science or social studies.

Hierarchy maps: this type is my favorite and shows information in a descending level of importance. the less important the lower you are on the map. this map was used to show how kingdoms and dynasties were ruled with common man being at the bottom, and the great king or shogun being at the top!

Flowcharts: they flow like water giving us information in a linear pathway which can thing easier to learn and understand things.

Genes maps: No joke here gene maps are used to locate and find specific DNA.

Floor maps: Man this one's a real door stopper, didn't have time to map this one out, so I might as well floor it. Floor maps are used to map out a room in a building making it easier to plan out how it's going to be built and what materials you need to actually build it. simple as that.

All my pictures are from this very website. and all my information was from either what I already know or Mr.rabo's amazing slide show. thank you.
