WHAT DOES THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM CONTROL?

  • Your breathing

Air travels to the nose or mouth first in the respiratory system. The nose moistens and warms the oxygen that passes through it.

AFTER THE NOSE

  • The air travels to the larynx were it opens so the air can pass through
  • Then the air goes through the trachea
  • Then the air goes into the lungs

THE DIAPHRAGM

  • Helps your lungs expand
  • Pushes down organs

THE LARYNX

  • Opens and closes to help you sing, hum and talk
