• Father was Elias Disney and his mother was Flora Disney
• Full name was Walter Elias Disney
• He was one of five children, four boys and one girl

HIS EDUCATION

• He went to Park School Elementary at Marceline Missouri
• He attended Benton Grammar School at age 9 in Kansas City
• In Chicago he went to McKinley Highschool

FIRST ANIMATIONS

• Steamboat Willie was the first animation published by Walt Disney
• Although he had another film that never got published
• His first colored movie was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

PERSONAL LIFE

• In 1925 he married Lillian Bounds
• Together they had Diane Disney and adopted Sharon Disney

WALTS VISION STATEMENT

IN THE PROCESS

• The Disney industry started working on building Disneyland on July 21,1954
• It took 12 months to build Disneyland

A BIG LOSS

• Due to lung cancer Walt unfortunately died at age 65
• Disney worlds construction was delayed but not for too long

THE NEXT STEP

• In 1967 Roy Disney continued the construction on Disney World
• The park opened on October 1,1971
