In 1907 Hershey introduce the new candy

Before we had machines to wrap them, they were wrapped by hand.
Today machines wrap around 1,300 kisses per minute.

The Hershey plum is the little paper on top of the kisses. At first, they didn't have the plum on top, that was patented in 1924

No one knows for certain how they were named. They think it has something to do with the noise they make when their made.

From 1942-1949 they stopped being made, because of the foil rationing during World War 2. The government also used the kisses mixers to make candy bars for the soldiars during that time.

There are also many kinds of kisses. Like Huggs, cherry, dark chocolate, and almonds. Just to name a few.

In 1962 Hershey decided to use different colored foil for holidays, such as red and green. They also used pastels for Easter.

It took some time to perfect milk chocolate kisses. Some other kinds they used were silverpoints, sweethearts, and silver tops.
