THE START OF MOZART

  • Mozart was born january 27, 1756
  • He started preforming publicly when he was 6
  • He was born in Salzburg, Austria.
  • He composed hundreds of works including sonatas, symphonies, masses, and operas.
  • His father and mother were Leopold and Maria Pertl Mozart.

EARLY LIFE

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was his full name
  • The only sibling that survived birth was his older sister maria anna
  • Mozart was baptized the day after his birth
  • Mozart was taught to play the harpsichord, violin and organ by his father
  • He began composing before he was 5

EARLY LIFE (CONTINUED)

  • In 1771 he got appointed concertmaster to a archbishop of Salzburg
  • But soon after that he didnt like that position and left to find a better post
  • He searched with his mom for a new post but had trouble finding one.
  • They went to paris and met many German composers and mozarts first music was published
  • Mozart was appointed an honorary Konzertmeister at the Salzburg court.

THE ITALIAN TOURS

  • By the age of 13 mozart had great facility in the musical langue of his time
  • This tour began on december 13, 1769 and lasted 15 months
  • This took him to all the main musical centers
  • But sometimes they would stop at any town if a nobblemen wanted to hear him play
  • some times mozart would have to rewrite some of his song to please the singers

THE ITALIAN TOUR (CONTINUED)

  • on december 26 he released a new piece called Regio Ducal Teatro
  • This new song was a big hit
  • He directed the first three of the 22 performances then returned home with his dad

MORE ON MOZART

  • In about march 1775 mozart began to work in his Salzburg post
  • The work to him was was not compatible with his abilities
  • During this time he wrote a dramatic song called "The Shepherd King"
  • At the end of the year he was commissioned to write opera buffa for the Munich carnival

THE LAST OF HIS TRAVELS

  • When Mozart returned from Prague in mid-November
  • During the time of depression Mozart was working on 3 synophoniess
  • Mozarts was having a lot of anxiety durimg this time about if people would come and if his work was good
  • He mentions this in many letters he write to home

MOZART'S LAST YEAR

  • Mozart had just finished his clarinet concerto in september
  • He had also released Die Zauberflöte the next day still very anxious about it
  • The reactions were cautious but soon after that it became the most loved of all mozarts work
  • Mozart had become ill but he was still in good spirts and directed three performance

MOZART'S DEATH

  • Mozart died on december 5, 1791
  • His burial was very simple
  • He was put in a reusable coffin in a common grave with 6 other bodies
  • No friends or family came to his burial
  • He died of hitziges Frieselfieber.
