PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Before I was, there was a man and woman, working together at a job to complete their work. The man was a tall, dark haired man with dark brown eyes who did software development. The woman was a brunette with hazel eyes and a warm smile who did business/data analytics. The man was engaged at the time, but it eventually didn’t work out. My dad then started dating my mom. They were together for about a year and half, before my mom had to move to Colorado on a job opportunity. She thought he would never follow. My dad had been in Florida his whole life and was not a fan of Colorado. Still, he followed my mom and moved to Colorado. They eventually got married and had my brother and me. The rest is history.
My origin is very diverse. I am Russian, Hungarian, Cuban and Irish. The Russian and Hungarian I get from my dad’s side, and the Cuban and Irish from my mother. My grandmother on my mom’s side is a third generation American from Cuba, because her grandparents moved by boat to the Keys. The grandfather on my dad’s side moved to the States to avoid the Russian Revolution which had plagued Russia in that time. My grandmother on my dad’s side is completely Hungarian and my grandfather on my mom’s side is Mostly Irish and a couple other races. In all, I have a very diverse nationality which comes from many corners of the earth.
My neighborhood is a nice neighborhood right on the Intercostal called Bel Air. There are a lot of nice people here, and it is a generally very affluent area in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Approximately 300 homes occupy this wonderful part of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Houses are generally small, but still expensive because of the land that is on. This is also why the homes are a little outdated. Nonetheless, it is still a great community to live in.
THE BEST ADVICE I HAVE EVER HAD
The best advice I have ever had is to not care what others think of you. Before, I was often held back by the limiting thought of being judged. Now, I don’t worry about such trivial matters and do the things I want to do without worry about what others think of me. This advice has allowed me to get stronger than I was before.
It is not fair that police do their job, and yet are criticized heavily by the media and hated in areas of low socioeconomic areas based on misleading information or just doing their job. Officers shouldn’t be judged on what a small fraction of police officers do. They should be judged on what the organization does as a whole. Yet, this clearly isn’t happening and is very unfair to police officers.
My hope is to go to MIT to work on an engineering or physics degree. I have always liked physics, math, and creative designing, so engineering has fit into my interests quite nicely. However, at the same time, I want to remain broad because I am not completely sure what I want to do when I get older. So, I want to do physics, as it aligns my interest, but at the same time, remains broad. Then, I can focus down into a narrower field and do what I truly want to do.
Looking back, I am person with a very diverse nationality who got born from my dad following my mom to Colorado. I live in a nice neighborhood that is safe, quiet, and friendly, a really good neighborhood. Additionally, the best advice I have ever had was to not care what others think about you because it has launched me into new and exciting activities and opportunities in which I would otherwise be left in fear of public disapproval. I think it is very unfair that the police are treated so by low socioeconomic communities and the media for something a tiny portion of the police force does. Finally, I want to do physics at MIT and maybe even narrow into an engineering, as I love math, creativity, and physics.
