  • They celebrate Christmas as Advent Season, like Christians do.
  • They light one candle each week.

CHRISTMAS TREES

  • If there are young children in the house, the parents will secretly decorate it.
  • The tree is usually put up on Christmas Eve

FROHE WEIHNACHTEN

  • They say Frohe Weihnachten instead of Merry Christmas.
  • Christmas Day is called Erste Feiertag which means 1st celebration.
  • The 26th is Zweite Feirtag which means 2nd celebration.

DAS CHRISTKIND

  • Kids write to Das Christkind
  • Christkind translates to The Christ Child
  • The Christ Child in German is not baby Jesus. It is a young girl with curly blonde hair.
  • They have a Santa Clause or Father Christmas.
