What was he earlier life like?

• Bethany was born on February 8th 1990 in Lihue Kauai Hawaii.
• she grew up with her mom cheri, dad Tom, and older brothers Noah and Tim. Her whole family learned to surf so she learned to handle the waves at a young age.
• Bethany was home schooled along with her two brothers.

• October 31 2003 bethany hamiltons left arm had been bitten off by a 14 foot tiger shark.
• It was hard for her to start surfing after the attack.
• One of her biggest struggles was dealing with the way people see, and treat her.

what successes has she had?

• A big success is when she won the EsPy for best female athlete.
• She didn't give up and got back up and surfed again.
• She won the explorer women's division at the 2005 NSSA.

• Because she had faith
• She found ways to make her daily life easier.

• Yes her family and friends supported her.
• Her family also Helped to train her to help her surf again.

What is her legacy?

• Her legacy is that she got her left arm bitten off by a 14 foot tiger shark and she didn't give up and didn't let her injury stop her from doing what she loved.

Is there any information i found interesting

• What i thought was interesting is that she lost 60 percent of her blood in the attack and still survived.
• Also that she didn't give up on her dreams with the life changing incident.
