ERIE CANAL
The Erie Canal ran from Albany to Buffalo in the state of New York.
It allowed for goods and people to move between the East Coast and towns on Lake Erie.
It also allowed for funding for future canal building

The Missouri Compromise stated three things.
1. Missouri would enter the Union as a slave state.
2. Maine would enter Union as a slave state.
3. Slavery would be prohibited in any new states north or south of Missouri’s southern border.

Andrew Jackson won the popular vote, but he did not have enough electoral votes
This caused the House of Representatives to choose a winner
The House chose John Quincy Adams
People thought that Adams had made a corrupt bargain with Henry Clay
This was supported when Adams chose Clay for Secretary of State
This weakened Adams’ support
