Men trapped beavers and other animals
Women prepared furs and cooked for trading
Voyageurs went to Ojibwe lodges
They got beaver furs
They traded and got other things

Moved to different trading centers
Voyageurs hunted duck and netted fish
Ojibwe repaired canoes
Packed up beaver pelts and said goodbye to family

SUMMER
Trading cycle ended with a rendezvous
Traded lots of things at rendezvous
Lots of people gather for this celebration
After, they counted beaver pelts
Then packed up and headed off for a long journey
