PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Newtons First LAw

By: Adelyn Michelle Holliday

An objects motion will not change unless an unbalanced force acts upon it.
If an object is in motion, it will stay in motion until an outside force acts on it.
If an object in rest, it will stay at rest until an outside force acts on it.
Inertia is the behavior of an object to resist a change in its motion
If an object is at rest Inertia will help it stay at rest
Inertia depends on mass. The more Mass the more Inertia
Objects have tendency to stop.
Objects have a tendency to maintain velocity unless acted on an unbalanced force. If you push an object equally it will maintain it’s velocity.

real life examples

  • A soccer ball will not move until a player kicks it.
  • A seatbelt stops you from getting hurt if you hit the brakes quickly
  • A basketball will not dribble unless someone acts upon it
  • An air hockey disk won't move until a outside force hits it
