SOME COMMON SYMPTOMS

• difficulty distinguishing between colors - inability to see shades or tones of the same color - rapid eye movement ( in rare cases )

THE OUTCOME OF THIS DISORDER

• Is not being able to see color

HOW DID THIS DISORDER GET ITS NAME

WHAT IS THE NAME / NUMBER OF THE GENE AND CHROMOSOME EFFECTED

• Different chromosomes effect different colors, so being color blind to blue, the chromosome effected would not be the same chromosome effected if you are color blind to red.

HOW DO YOU TREAT COLOR BLINDNESS

• Color filters or contact lenses can help with color blindness

WHAT IS THE CURRENT RESEARCH

DOES COLOR BLINDNESS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH GENDER OR RACE?

• no, but more men are affected than women

IS THIS DISORDER PASSED ON FROM PARENT TO CHILD?

• it still depends on what type of color blindness you have for example if you are blind to the colors red or green ( or both ), it is passed on from mother to son on the 23rd chromosome
