Rise, Height, Decline
The Safavid dynasty came to power after the collapsing of the Timur Lenk empire.

Unlike others Muslims, the Safavids were Shias. This group formed under the control of Shah Esmail, was made after the domination of much of Iran and Iraq, as well as Persia.

In their highest point, administrators were able to run the kingdom. The army was well trained, and armed with the newest weapons. People were free think any way they wanted, which was the ultimate high point in the dynasty.

The death of Shah Abbas in 1629 began the decline of the dynasty. After he died, his successors lacked the skills needed to continue the empire.

The SHah

The Shahs declared Shia Islam the state religion. they also controlled the power of the aristocracy

Safavid economy and trade

Played a role in trade and manufacturing by sending their goods on camel or horse caravans.

Knowledge of science, medicine, and math were important to the Safavids. Silk and carpet weaving were large parts of life, as well as painting.

Muslims in the US

Muslim teens in the US may have trouble with their identities because of the way Muslims are so highly discriminated against. with the rise of ISIS, Islamic views have been distorted, and many people believe all Muslims are bad.

The taj Mahal

The Taj MAhal is said to be the most beautiful structure in the world. It is culturaley significant because it is a Muslim structure, but it is in India.
