MEMORY MOMENT

  • "The best night ever was when my older brother Chris and I beat up eight Frat guys after they threatened us, and didn't get in trouble."
  • "Tag team slip and slide was the best game Chris and I came up with."
  • Both of these moments were probably important to Rob because he did all the things he loved to do when while at Arizona State University. For example, he spent time with friends, and played football with his brother Chris as well as his friends, and he also got to hang out with girls.

AGAIN AND AGAIN

  • "It must have been tough when my dad hurt his knee and didn't get drafted into the NFL because of it."
  • Rob visits with the Boston children's hospital to help those children who are fighting diseases.
  • The first signpost was brought up by the author to stress what injury can do to you and you potential career. The next signpost was brought up to remind Rob when he was injured, to reflect on what he has been given, compared to those at the Boston children's hospital.

WORDS OF THE WISER

  • "When things get hard you have to work twice as hard."
  • "When you get hurt, you're better off telling someone rather than keeping it to yourself."
  • Both of these were quotes told by Rob Gronkowski's father who learned them the hard way. Rob's father told Rob this to encourage success and avoid injury. The first quote Rob has always followed, but Rob ignored the second which almost resulted in permanent loss of feeling in his legs, and the end of his career.

TOUGH QUESTIONS

  • "Why did I try to max out when I have never done that workout before?"
  • "Why didn't I tell my weight instructor that my back was hurting?"
  • Both of these questions make me wonder why Rob didn't listen to his father's second saying, considering he has always trusted his father's first saying. If he would have to the second saying, he wouldn't have gotten hurt or had to get two surgeries for his back, before coming back to play.

AHA MOMENT

  • The moment when Rob Gronkowski became the forty-second pick in the 2010 NFL draft.
  • This milestone changed Rob Gronkowski's understanding of himself. This is because now he is an official NFL tightened for the New England Patriots, and he will be on ESPN, Monday, Thursday, and Sunday night football.

CONTRASTS AND CONTRADICTIONS

  • Rob Gronkowski didn't think that he would make varsity football as a freshman.
  • The reason why Rob Gronkowski didn't think he would make varsity football was because he had only played for two years at that point. He assumed this because his three older brothers were much better then he was at that age at football and they only made it on JV. The situation that allowed him to play varsity football was that he was 6'4", 210lbs as a freshman and was in pretty good shape.
