  • It affects the cervix, testicles, and vaginas
  • It is a bacterial infection
  • It can cause you to be sterile

STATISTICS

  • Most common STI in the US
  • Most common in women and ages 14 - 24
  • 19 thousand cases reported in MN in 2013
  • 3 million cases reported worldwide
  • 1.4 million cases in the US in 2013

HOW TO GET IT

  • Having sex
  • Coming into contact with bodily fluids

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

  • Fever and nausea
  • Pain in genitals, sex, and urination
  • Can cause PID, damage, and discharge

COMPLICATIONS

  • Problematic pregnancy
  • Large chance of being sterile

TREATMENT

  • Can be cured by antibiotics
  • Can contract again

PREVENTION

  • Abstinence and condoms
  • Get tested and one partner
  • Also depending on sexual orientation
