The soil was fertile and good for agriculture. Also Delaware has 30,000 acres of swamp, giving lots of trees, grass, flowers, and other wildlife. The swamps also gave good medication thanks to all the leeches it harvests.
Delaware was named after the first governor of Virginia, Sir Thomas De La War and was the first of the thirteen colonies to ratify the u.s Constitution.
The Philadelphia campaign (which happened in Pennsylvania) played one of the most important parts in the Revolutionary War and Pennsylvania (which means Penn's Woods) was named after admiral sir William Penn by King Charles.
