BACKROUND

• Was sailing across the Atlantic Ocean.
• People expected it to be unsinkable
• It had four smoke stacks
• One of the smoke stacks was just for show

WHY IT SANK

• The lookouts didn't have binoculars
• The watertight doors were closed AFTER water got through
• The captain was racing across the Atlantic and didn't stop when he should have to prevent collisions
