They wanted to make it twice as big.
It has three theme parks.
Universal Studios is 15-20 min. Away from Disney World.

Everglades National Park
It is game to thirteen endangered species.
It is the largest designated wilderness in the eastern U.S.
It is the largest mangrove ecosystem in the Western Hemisphere.

Lake Okeechobee
The lake is the largest lake in Florida.
It’s average depth is 9 feet.
It is the 9th largest lake in the U.S.

Suwannee River
The river is the state song.
It is located in Northern Florida.
It is used for drinking water.

The Florida Keys
Key West was sold to the U.S. for $2,000!!
The first inhabitants of the Keys were Native American Tribes.
In 1935 they were struck by one of the worst hurricanes known to ever hit the U.S.

It covers 23 million acres.
It inhabits 11species of animals.
It is very warm.

Britton Hill is 345 feet above sea level.
It is the highest point in Florida.
It is the lowest high point of any U.S. state.
