Something made out of one attribute

Atom
The basic building blocks of matter. Super super super small.

Element

Molecule
2 or more elements that are combined

Compounds

Mixture
Matter that contains 2 or more different substances physically combines.

Solution
Homogeneous mixture of one or more solute(s) dissolved in a solvent

Dissolve
To make a solution by dissolving one or more solutes in a solvent.

Solute
The substance that is being dissolved.
(EX)
sodium chloride
sugar
Copper sulfate

Soluble
Able to be dissolve

Insoluble
Not able to dissolve

saturated solution
A solution that will dissolve anymore solute. (At a temperature or pressure or volume of solvent).A solution becomes saturated when you can SEE that no more of a solute will dissolve in a given volume of solvent.

Solubility:
The amount of solute that a solvent can dissolve.

Solubility is a CHARACTERISTIC PROPERTY.

Filtration: the substance that filters through

Evaporation- to separate a solution by allowing the solvent (eg.water) turn into a gas, leaving behind any solutes(s) (soluble materials -eg salt.)

Sedimentation: a naturally occurring process of separation when large insoluble substance will settle out of a mixture of a solid and liquid.

Desalination
The process to remove minerals from salt water
