DANCER

ABOUT THE JOB

• Rehearse for 6-8 hours a day
• Perform a variety of productions (many kinds of dance styles)
• Have years of training and practice
• Usually work 30-50 hours a week
• Move their bodies to express feelings created by music

EDUCATIONAL PATH

• You begin when very young and throughout your teens
• Some study at special dance schools
• Others graduate with a bachelor's degree
• A doctoral degree is usually required for university faculty positions
• Some compete in many competitions
