What are decomposers? Decomposers break down dead plants and animals. They are important, without them plants would not get nutrients.

Bacteria are important decomposers. They are important in recycling of nutrients.

Fungi are the primary decomposers. They decompose by releasing enzymes to break down the decaying materials.
