WHAT IS ROCK SALT?
Halite, commonly known as rock salt, is the mineral form of sodium chloride. Halite forms isometric crystals.

Rock salt is a sedimentary rock and is also mined for chemical purposes. It is formed from ocean and saline evaporation .

Rock salt can also be made for a good vanilla ice cream made by no other than Tavaris Owens himself

AMERICAN ROCK SALT is the largest operating salt mine in the United States with a capacity for producing up to 18,000 tons each day. Established in 1997, this underground salt mine is the only one built in the United States in the last 40 years.
