Untitled Slide

  • God Apollo fell in love with Cassandra.
  • Apollo was a Greek and Roman God.
  • Cassandra was a  beautiful, young priestess.
  • She had great ambition

God Apollo fell in love with Cassandra and he granted her with the gift of prophecy but then Cassandra denied Apollo and all his advances. Then, Apollo put a curse on her so that nobody would believe her words or her predictions, God Apollo gave Cassandra a gift of frustration and despair. So, then no one would believe anything she would say. And Since Apollo had put a spell on her, she tried warning people about the Trojan Horse being a trap, but no one believed her. People would laugh at her and didn't believe the truth.

Cassandra?
Cassandra was the daughter of king Priam. She was beautiful. When she was a young girl, she spent the night at the temple of Thymbraean Apollo with her twin brother, When their parents looked in on them the next morning, the children were entwined with serpents, which flicked their tongues into the children's ears. This enabled Cassandra and Helenus to divine the future.

How and why did all this curse thing happen?
Well, Once Cassandra had grown up, she again spent the night in Apollo's temple. This time, however, Apollo tried to force himself upon her & she denied his advances.

Apollo's temple?
The temple of Delphi was not only built in Apollo's honor, but it was also Apollo's special oracle. Each temple was dedicated to usually one god.
