Gillibrand was originally a blue dog democrat during her early years in Congress, but has since moved far left. Her platform for senate elections and the upcoming 2020 presidential election illustrates this shift.

Gillibrand is currently polling less than 1% at primary polls in Des Moines, Iowa due to other larger candidates like Biden and Buttigieg.
Gillibrand has raised a total of $9,515,258 and this total continues to grow as her biggest contributors are from law firms.
Gillibrand has hired a campaign staff to run her campaign, led by her former chief of staff Jeff Fassler. Her campaign has state directors in Iowa (Lara Henderson) and in New Hampshire (Pat Devney).
