Geographical issues happen all over the world. Countries fight over a piece of land that holds religious significance and or due to terrritorial conflict(s). Sectionalism is the other reason where country is divided and becomes cause of the conflict. Compromise of 1850 in U.S. is one such example.

The provisions itself became an issue of conflict for the Compromise of 1850. North wanted to get rid of slavery while the South wanted more slaves thus dividing the country. California got admitted as a free state but did not settle issue of slavery. This was became geographical issue as wheather California should be entered into the union as a free state or a slave state but it entered as a free state.

In articles I read about the India and the Pakistan war, I learned the history and how it all started. The two countries are fighting over an important state, Kashmir. A long time ago India and Pakistan partitioned and both sides accuse the other of violating the ceasefire and claim to be shooting in response to the attacks. This would be a geographical issue because they are fighting over a state.

The similar situation as Compromise of 1850 is going on between India and Pakistan. In India and Pakistan there is a war right now because both of the countries are fighting for a very big and important state, Kashmir, India currently owns Kashmir, and they have been fighting since 1947. Just as the Compromise of 1850 fought weather to put Califronia as a free state or a slave state.India tried to make peace with Pakistan but they have not resolved their conflict. Because of their conflict they have been to war 3 times.
