Fanny grew up in Berlin, yet she was born in Hamburg.
Her mother had predicted her future passion for music.
Fanny was the eldest of 4 children
Fanny received her first piano instructions from her mother.
She was baptized yet her family still shared moral values of Judaism.
She was inspired by her mother, and could have been inspired by her aunts.

Fanny also composed lieder and chamber music.
Fanny was 4 years older then Felix Mendelssohn.

She wrote over 500 compositions in all.
“Easter Sonata” was actually written by Fanny Mendelssohn, herself. And not her brother, Felix Mendelssohn.

Fanny did not have a job as a child, she had started out as a musician.
Fanny died in Berlin, Prussia.

Fanny Mendelssohn had only one son, but she also had two miscarriages.
She was married to Wilhelm Hensel.

Fanny took over her home after her mother’s death in 1842.
She is said to be as talented musically as her brother, Felix Mendelssohn.
Felix and Fanny were taught by the same music teachers.
