Reasons Why Teens Use Drugs

1. Peer Pressure
Not using drugs due to peer pressure would show how independent and strong you are, which may even lead people to make better choices.

2. Escape
Not choosing drugs to escape your life is a good choice because drugs would ruin many aspects of your life and will likely affect your future. They will also only have temporary effects, so instead get some mental help.

3. Performance Improvement
Not using drugs to improve your success would allow one to credit all of their success to themselves, therefore boosting self-worth and confidence.

4. Experimentation
Although you may want to try something, you should avoid trying drugs because it is very common to get addicted, which will be very damaging to you body physically and mentally. Also, experimenting with drugs is extremely unforgiving.

5. To Feel Grown Up
Even though you want to feel like you are an adult, doing drugs doesn't make you an adult, it only shows that you are uneducated. Also, there are many other ways that one can feel grown up; ways that don´t hurt your body.

Avoiding drugs may seem pointless, however, studies have shown that people who avoid drugs are more successful and have better mental health in the end. Life may seem hard, but resorting to drugs is not the answer.
