  • Born - C.1643
  • Lived - Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire
  • Studied/Worked - Cambridge University

  • Isaac was a humanist because he cared greatly for
  • science and math, even though it did not help him get into heaven.
  • He also thought not against god, but he wanted to see how things actually happened
  • Not "oh it fell out of the sky it's a miracle". He actually went into detail with things.

WHAT WERE SOME OF ISAAC NEWTONS MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS?

  • One of Isaac Newtons major achievement is the book of philosophi ae naturalis Principia mathmatica (Principia)
  • In 1669 Isaac was appointed as second lucasion professor of Mathematica
  • 1689 - Newton was an Elected member of parliament for Cambridge University
  • 1705 - Knighted by Queen Anne

HIS BELIEFS, FEELINGS, OR IDEAS

  • Isaac Newton was a deeply religious person, aside from all of the science he was doing.
  • He has written about 1.3 million biblical subjects
  • One of Newton's ideas was the "three laws of motion"
  • He also had many more ideas including the diffraction of light and forces

A QUOTE FROM ISAAC NEWTON

  • "I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of people"
  • I think that means that Isaac Newton has the smartness for being able to think about science,
  • but he will not be able to find out about all of these people around him
