HURRICANES

BY ELISE AND CLARK

FORMATION AND EFFECTS

  • Hurricanes begin as a tropical storm over the warm and moist waters of the oceans. As the moisture evaporates it rises until all the precipitation falls down at once.
  • High winds, tornados, storm surges, and flooding are some major examples of hurricanes.

THE MAJOR DANGERS OF A HURRICANE

  • Storm surges and storm tides
  • Heavy rainfall and inland flooding
  • High winds and rip currents
  • Sometimes it creates tornadoes
