Alignment:

Contrast:
The difference of one design element to another.

Proximity:
The amount of space between design elements.
THE TWO FLOWERS ARE NEXT TO EACH OTHER IN CLOSE PROXIMITY.
Space:
Empty space where no design elements have been placed.
THERE IS EMPTY SPACE AROUND THE TREE.
