SOME MORE SPECIFIC AREAS BOTANISTS CAN SPECIALIZE IN :

  • Plant Anatomy and Physiology
  • Biochemistry
  • Molecular Biology
  • Genetics
  • Ecology
  • Marine Botany
  • Paleobotany (study of fossilised plant remains)
  • Taxonomy (the identification and classification of plants)

"In the federal government in 2005, botanists in nonsupervisory, supervisory, and managerial positions earned an average salary of $62,207." - ( link can be found in the bibliography )

Botany as a whole is a very important subject. Botanists study plants, and without having the knowledge of plants or without them helping plants, we might not have plants. Plants give us food, fiber, wood, engergy, oxygen, and a lot of medicines, they are a vital resource, much like water.

(Sorry if it got too repetitive. I don't know any synonyms for the word "plants".)
