This haiku deck is about the trash in the ocean and how that trash is being turned into art to spread awareness that there is trash in the ocean. If you want to know more about this than I think you should read this article.
The article, "Huge sea-life sculptures made from ocean plastic trash", from the Associated Press introduces readers to Angela Haseltine Pozzi. She creates sculptures with plastic that is found on the beach. She wants to use her art to spread awareness about massive problem of plastic pollution in our oceans.
People say that Pozzi's art is beautiful and scary. One of her sculptures is a great white shark that is entirely made of bottle caps, and there is a jellyfish that is made of mostly cut-up water bottles. These pieces are part of an art project called Washed Ashore : Art to Save the Sea.
Pozzi now has three "Washed Ashore" exhibitions traveling the U.S., and she has been requested to showcase here work globally. One of her most impressive sculptures is a whale that she made that you can walk through. You can walk through the ribcage of the whale, the rib cage is made of bucket lids, bottles, buoys and bait traps.
I read this because I thought that it was very inspiring and that more people should know about how much trash is in the ocean. I think that what Angela is doing is a good thing and that she should keep making more art pieces to spread awareness that there is a lot of trash in the ocean.
