Background checks may be required in healthcare education due to state law, licensure boards, or because of accrediting agency requirements (Farnsworth, 2006).
If in the last SEVEN years a crime of abuse, illegal drugs, assault, fraud, arson, kidnapping, mayhem, poisoning, forgery, or grand theft have occurred the student does not have a clean background check.
In the past THREE years, if misdemeanor theft or multiple crimes, the background check is also not clean. In the past three years of a first driving under the influence, the student does not pass the background check.
