PRESENTATION OUTLINE
I is for incredible. It was hard to believe that dally asked for two-bits switch blade,but it wasn't just any old switch blade it was a fancy black-handled one. It was two-bits showpiece. He must have really wanted to get back at the socs for what happened to Jonny. If Dally asked for that fancy switch bladed it must have meant he really needed it.
J is for juiced up. When the gang finally got to see Jonny in the hospital,they started to get all juiced up. They were saying that he wasn't going to die and that he would be okay. Everybody didn't want Jonny to die. The gang needed Jonny as much as Jonny needed the gang. He was basically holding everybody together. They couldn't get along without him.
K is for know. Know is just another synonym for realized. And Ponyboy realized that Darry actually cared for him when were at the hospital. Darry had that look the same look as when he was at his parents funeral when he first saw Ponyboy at the hospital. Pony realized that he Darry cared for him as he cared for soda. That what soda,dally, and two-bit were saying all along.
K is for kids. The church Jonny and Ponyboy were staying in caught on fire and had kids in it. They went in the burning church and saved the kids. They became hero and got on the newspaper. Even though they are called greasers,that don't mean do bad things all the time. They can still do good things,like save those kids from the burning church.
L is for love. Cherry loved Bob even though she said she was to young to love. When pony asked to see if she wanted to see Jonny she said because she couldn't see the person who killed her boyfriend. She knew he had it coming. That Bob also had to good side to him,it was when he was drunk was when he was stupid . Pony knew she could love Dallas and that she went for all the trouble makers.
M is for mom. Ponyboys mom died. But she cared about pony and his two brothers. Unlike Jonny's mom, who mentally abused him. But pony was nothing like his mom.
N is for new. When Jonny and Ponyboy were in the church, Jonny made Ponyboy bleach and cut his hair. Their hair is their trademark/pride. They have nothing else to give up. Their long greased back hair was basically all they had.
O is for obligate. Ponyboy felt obligated to go to the rumble. And that he had to represent the greasers. Also that he had to go because Jonny couldn't go because he was in the hospital.
P is for pacifist. Pony is pacifist about fight. Pony would never use a weapon on anybody.Cherry is also pacifist about fights and violence.
Q is for Dairy Queen. Dally came to the church to see how Jonny and Ponyboy were doing. They ended up going to the Dairy Queen to get food because they were starved. Jonny told dally that he wanted to turn himself in,and go back home because he didn't want to live in the church his whole life.
