What is a habitat?
A habitat is a place for living things to survive. Habitats have 5 things, a place to raise babies, food and water, a shelter, and air.

What is an ecosystem?
An ecosystem is a group of living and non-living things working together to survive. They can be as large as a forest or as small as a puddle.

WHAT IS IN A HEALTHY ECOSYSTEM?

DESERT

• animals like rats are living underground
• owls and other birds hunt at night
• living things are used to not having enough water

FOREST

• trees have adapted to wildfires by growing thick bark
• things are being decomposed
• plants use photosynthsis
