Physical Education Teacher

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science in Physical Education/Health Education. This is a 5 year program which includes a full year of student teaching.
  • Driver Education takes an additional 1 Year
  • When you graduate you are 1 lab and 1 science course away from MEDICAL SCHOOL.
I spent a total of 7 years in college working full time and going to school full time

Payed tuition in full working in a medical Warehouse.

At this time I was homeless. I slept in a pillow box at the warehouse

Saved money on Dorms by eating /Sleeping / living @ the warehouse 
This was a great time in my life regardless of my living arrangement.

I was the young kid fighting to pass college and not end up in a warehouse for 30 years

My Goals as Teacher/Coach/Leader

  • Set a positive example
  • Motivate Students /Athletes
  • Assist them in finding a learning style works for them
  • Support their choices and they will honor their commitments.
  • Teach them how to set goals, achieve goals, win with class, lose with class
  • Learn from wins as well as losses and reflect
  • Demand that they give their best without sacrificing their health / academics / family
  • Inspire them to take what they've learned and pass it on to their peers.

WHAT'S THE PAY LIKE?

  • Most Districts start at 40-50K
  • After 20 years and you could be making around 100K (Depending on your level of Education and amount of Activities you are involved in.
  • Coaching can be any where from 4-10K PER SEASON
  • A percentage of your income will pay for your Health Benefits and it has been considered as part of the overall Salary.
  • You have some good time off in the summer, but there is a lot of time during the year when we work 24/7 if we have to.
The pay is not low its moderate for someone that wants safe consistent income and can follow the rules.

Use to be better but w/ a job like this you can generate multiple streams of income.
