PRESENTATION OUTLINE

OLD TRACTORS

  • The first driving tractors were steam powered and could harvest over one thousand bushels a day without any problems throughout the day.
  • And they only used 26 gallons of gas not diesel.

NEW TRACTORS

  • Tractors are now powered mainly by diesel but tractors are gas powered also.
  • Tractors can hold anywhere from 100 to 400 gallons of diesel also their are gas tractors but diesel is most common today.

FARMING DISCS

  • Were made for tilling the soil and getting rid of unwanted crops and weeds.

PLANTERS

  • Planters where made to plant crops quicker so it would not take as long.

FERTILIZERS

  • Fertilizers help keep the plants healthy and it keeps the ground fertile so they can keep growing good crops.

SPRAYERS

  • Sprayers are used for getting rid of parasites and pesticides and are used to keep them healthy.

OLD COMBINES

  • The early combines only had 2 or 4 rows that you could cut at a time and this took a long time especially since they could only go 2 to 3 miles an hour at the time.

NEW COMBINES

  • The combines we use today can be able to cut up to twenty rows or more even though these are more time efficient they also cost a lot more money today then they did back then.

CROP DUSTERS

  • Crop dusters are simply used for protecting the crops from rain and other environmental weather.

GPS

  • Farmers use a gps so they do not go into other farmers fields and to stay on coarse of their field.
