Congo is a chimpanzee who learned to paint. He was born in 1954.
A zoologist and painter discovered his abilities by offering him a pencil and paper. By age 4 he had made 400 drawings and paintings.
If Congo had his picture taken away before he was done he would throw a fit. Also if he thought it was finished he would refuse to continue.
In the late 50s he made appearances in a British show called zootime.
His story ends when he dies at 10 years of age from tuberculosis in 1964.
