GEORGIA'S LAST NATIVES

The Mississippians lived in Midwestern or southwestern of the United States .

INTRO

  • They lasted from A.D 800 to 1600
  • They were the most complex natives in North America
  • They were horticulturalists

FOODS

  • They grew foods like:
  • Corn, beans , squash , sunflower,goose feet,and sumpweed
  • They also are wild nuts and berries
  • They haunt deer , turkey, turtle ,fish and other small animal.

TOOLS

  • The used simple things as:
  • Stone,axes , digging sticks, and fire
  • To garden with

WEAPONS

  • The only weapon the used to hunt with was a bow , witch was a sharp pointy stone that they could wrap to the end of a stick

CULTURE

  • The Mississippians spent most of their time outside and only used there homes for weather sleeping and storage.
  • They were organized in ranked society. They belonged to one of two groups Elite or commoners
  • The commoners were the ones who worked to keep the community going
  • Elite were just treated special

  • RANGED FROM 12FT TO 30FT IN THE SIDE. THEY WERE RECTANGULAR OF CIRCLER POLE SHAPED BUILY OUT OF sapling , sunbaked clay,and poles
