Finally, once the jury made a decision on who was guilty, surprisingly they decided it was Tom Robinson. Even though Atticus provided the jury with plenty of evidence that Tom Robinson was innocent. Atticus Finch also made a very strong point that even though Tom Robinson was an African American, that shouldn't give him a disadvantage. Concluding, Atticus wanted to prove to the jury that no matter your skin color, everyone should be equal; especially in court.
