WHY WE CHOSE TO MAKE A COCOLAILY

We chose to make a cocolaily because we wanted to be unique. A cocolaily is not your average instrument. You don’t have them in orchestra’s so they are pretty rare. You can’t buy them in stores so unless you make them, they don’t exist

SOUND

The strings on the cocolaily normally have tuning pegs like a guitar but we didn’t have the right materials so we just glued the wire down. The sound isn’t the best and its very quiet.

HOW WE MADE IT

SAW THE COCONUT IN HALF AND SPOON OUT IT’S INSIDES

MAKE 2 CUTS ON BOTH SIDE OF THE COCONUT

CUT 2 PIECES OF TIMBER AND STICK THEM ONTO THE LARGER PIECE OF WOOD

STICK THE FISHING WIRE ON THE 2 SMALLER PIECES OF TIMBER AND THEN STICK THE SKEWERS ON TOP

STICK THE PEICE OF TIMBER INTO THE SLOTS IN THE COCONUT AND WAIT FOR IT TO DRY
