The Persian Gulf War occurred from the 2nd of August to the 28th of February in 1990-91. Saddam Hussein accused Kuwait of stealing Iraqi petroleum through slant drilling.

U.S. feared how much power Saddam would have controlling 20% of the oil and seeking more oil in Saudi Arabia, and U.S. didn't want him to influence many European and Middle East countries.
