Originally abolitionists, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott attended an anti-slavery convention in London in 1840. They were angry that they were treated differently than men at the convention. They worked together to fight for women's rights. They were the organizers of the first women's rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York.
