ORIGIN
Cofucianism began in the tang dynasty
It took parts from buddhism and taoism and was called Neo-confucianism
It became part of the imperial exams
Confucianism ended in 1905
Other countries labeled cofucianism as chinas weakness

CONFUCIANISM HISTORY
It was named after a smart person named Confucius
He was born in 551B.C. In the small state of Lu
Confucius made himself learn more as a teenager
He learned six arts, ritual music, archery, charioteering, calligraphy,and math
Confucianism was the official ideology of the Han

CONFUCIANISM BELIEFS
The main principle is ren, which is the desire to do good things for others
The second principle is Yi, which means honesty and righteousness
The third principle is Li, correct behavior and manners
The fourth priciple is Zhi, wisdom and knowledge
The fifth principle is Xin, fidelity (faithfulness to a person, cause, or belief)and sincerity

ETHICS
There ethics are described as humanistic and they can be practiced by any member of society
It is in comprised by the five principles (Ren, Yi, Li, Zhi, and Xen)
There are four virtues, loyalty, filial piety, continence, righteousness

RELATIONSHIPS
There are five proper relationships one is ruler to ruled
Second is father to son
Third is husband to wife
Fourth is friend to friend
Fifth is elder brother to younger brother

RELATIONSHIPS CONTINUED
Relationships also extend to the dead
Where the living go to grieve for the dead
Also respect for elders is enficized except for in friend to friend where it must be equal

WORSHIP
In confucianism it is not a religion
It has no priests or any monastic order
People are taught and moulded through personal and communal influence
When a person dies they are not completely gone they turn into a spirit that wanders around
The spirit eventually comes back to the family alter and is to be worshipped

COUNTRIES THAT PRACTICED CONFUCIANISM
In china, taiwan, hong kong, macua, korea, japan, and vietnam
These places all were strongly influenced by confucianism
In the 20th century there have been talks of confucian revival

Chinese people built many temples to practice confucianism
They were called Kong Miao
They were famous for their large scale and rich artistic value
